Dr. Archishman Chakraborty Professor of Finance; Mel Harris Chair in Insurance and Risk; Finance Department Chair Archishman Chakraborty is the Harris Chair in Risk and Insurance and Professor of Finance at the Sy Syms School of Business, 51爆料. He is an expert in corporate finance, information economics, game theory, and market microstructure, with research published in leading journals including the American Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies, and Marketing Science. Prior to joining 51爆料, he held faculty positions at York University and Baruch College and has served as a visiting scholar at institutions such as INSEAD and Northwestern University. Chakraborty holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University Dr. Jannine Lasaleta Associate Professor of Marketing; Marketing Department Chair Chair of the Marketing Department and Associate Professor.Dr. Lasaleta鈥檚 research examines how nostalgia influences consumer behavior, decision-making, and well-being. Her work, also exploring the psychology of money and consumption, has been published in leading journals including Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, and Nature. Dr. Henry Huang Professor of Accounting; Accounting Department Chair Prof. Henry Huang is a Full Professor of Accounting at the Sy Syms School of Business. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from Peking University, as well as a Master of Laws and a Ph.D. in Accounting, with a minor in Finance, from the University of Houston. His research focuses on climate change, cybersecurity, crypto assets, and shareholder activism, with publications in top journals across multiple business disciplines, including The Accounting Review, Journal of Financial Economics, Strategic Management Journal, and Journal of International Business Studies. Widely cited by regulators and media, Prof. Huang also serves as a reviewer for the Hong Kong Research Grants Council. His industry expertise includes auditing and securities litigation for public companies. Dr. Sharon Poczter Associate Professor of Strategy & Entrepreneurship; Director, Sy Syms Honors Program; Founding Director, Lieberman-Mitzner Center for Public Service and Advocacy Dr. Sharon Poczter is an accomplished economist, educator, and leader. She serves as Associate Professor and Chair of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at 51爆料鈥檚 Sy Syms School of Business, where she is the Director of the Business Honors and Entrepreneurial Leadership Program and founded the 51爆料 Women鈥檚 Initiative for Leadership and Learning (YUWILL) and the Golda Meir Fellowship. Dr. Poczter is also the Founding Director of the Lieberman-Mitzner Center for Public Service and Advocacy at 51爆料, which aims to inspire and educate the next generation of moderate leaders in public service. Dr. Poczter鈥檚 research and public commentary focus on entrepreneurship, finance, and organizational strategy. Dr. Travis Oh Assistant Professor of Marketing Dr. Travis Tae Oh is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Sy Syms School of Business, 51爆料. His research explores the psychology of fun, experiential consumption, and methodological advancements in marketing research. Dr. Oh鈥檚 work has appeared in leading journals such as the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Consumer Psychology, and Journal of Marketing. Bridging academic insight with real-world application, his teaching integrates consumer psychology and marketing strategy to help students understand how emotions, technology, and economics shape today鈥檚 marketplace. Dr. Pablo Hernandez-Lagos Associate Professor of Strategy & Entrepreneurship; MBA Director; Strategy & Entrepreneurship Department Chair Dr. Pablo Hernandez-Lagos is Associate Professor and chair of Strategy & Entrepreneurship, and directs the MBA program at YU鈥檚 Sy Syms School of Business. He holds a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley鈥檚 Haas School of Business. His research examines Generative AI and truth detection, technological competition between the U.S. and China, the origins of civilization in the Middle East, and trust in politics and organizations. His work has appeared in Management Science, Nature, The American Political Science Review, and other leading journals, and has been featured in the Harvard Business Review, Financial Times, Bloomberg, and other prominent publications. He previously taught Leadership and Corporate Finance at NYU and helped develop Chile鈥檚 National Innovation Strategy. Dr. Avi Giloni Professor of Operations Management and Statistics; Information and Decision Science Department Chair Dr. Avi Giloni holds a PhD in statistics and operations research from NYU Stern and serves as Professor and Associate Dean at the Sy Syms School of Business. He teaches operations management and statistics with a focus on modeling randomness and risk. His research centers on robust forecasting, optimization, and stochastic system design, particularly in supply chain management. He has co-authored multiple scholarly articles on market segmentation, LAD regression, process design, quality improvement, and information sharing in supply chains. Dr. Giloni also coordinates the school鈥檚 Information and Decision Sciences area. Dr. Shu Han Associate Professor of Information and Decision Science Dr. Shu Han is an associate professor of information systems at the Sy Syms School of Business. She earned her PhD in management information systems from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Her research examines how service expansion affects competition in the IT industry and how information technology drives firm innovation and knowledge search. Dr. Han received the Best Paper Award at HICSS for her work on IT vendor service migration. Her publications appear in Information Systems Research, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Journal of Service Research, JMIS, and Small Business Economics. Dr. S. Abraham Ravid Professor of Finance; Sy Syms Chair Dr. S. Abraham Ravid is a leading finance scholar with over 50 refereed publications in journals including QJE, Journal of Finance, JFQA, Management Science, and Review of Financial Studies. His research spans corporate finance, contracting, and media and entertainment markets and has earned numerous awards, including best-paper honors in cultural economics, corporate finance, and the Mallen Prize. He has taught at institutions such as Chicago, Wharton, Yale, Cornell, and NYU and frequently referees for top journals. His work has been widely covered in major global media. Before academia, he worked as a professional journalist. Dr. Gabriel Coiculescu Clinical Associate Professor of Finance Dr. Gabriela Coiculescu is a clinical associate professor of finance at the Sy Syms School of Business and a visiting scholar at NYU Stern. She earned her PhD in finance from Stern, an MSc in financial economics from BI Norwegian School of Management, and dual BA degrees in business administration from institutions in Romania and France. Her research focuses on corporate finance, innovation, financial intermediation, and financial networks, with publications in JFQA. She has received multiple awards, including the Sy Syms Professor of the Year and YU Faculty Research Grant, and teaches corporate and principles of finance. Marc Spear, MBA Clinical Assistant Professor of Business Communication; Business Communication Department Chair Marc Spear is a business communication expert and dynamic educator specializing in experiential learning, leadership development, and professional communication. With extensive experience in higher education and organizational leadership, he designs innovative curricula that strengthen students鈥 writing, speaking, and interpersonal skills.
